Fujairah: The UAE's Best Kept Secret for Beach Lovers

While everyone flocks to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Fujairah's pristine beaches and rugged mountains offer a completely different side of the UAE.

Why Fujairah?

Located on the UAE's east coast facing the Gulf of Oman, Fujairah is the only emirate without a coastline on the Arabian Gulf. This geographical quirk gives it clearer waters, better diving, and a more relaxed atmosphere than its western counterparts.

Top Beaches

Al Aqah Beach

The crown jewel of Fujairah's coastline. Crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkeling, with coral reefs just meters from shore. Several beach resorts offer day passes if you're not staying overnight.

Sandy Beach

A local favorite with free public access. Less crowded than resort beaches, it's perfect for families and those seeking authenticity. Weekends can get busy, so visit on weekdays for a more peaceful experience.

Dibba Beach

Technically shared with Oman, this remote beach offers stunning mountain backdrops and some of the best snorkeling in the region. Bring your own gear and food—facilities are limited.

Beyond the Beach

Don't miss Fujairah Fort, one of the oldest in the UAE, and the Friday Market where you can buy pottery, carpets, and fresh produce. The drive through Wadi Wurayah is spectacular, with waterfalls (in winter) and indigenous wildlife.

Getting There

Fujairah is 90 minutes from Dubai via the scenic mountain route through Masafi. Rent a car for maximum flexibility—public transport is limited.
